environments are (also) reflections of their people
people used to say the opposite as if only the opposite is true. this reasoning is not sound; the opposite phenomenon exists too.
briefly mentioned this in an older blog post of mine. in that post i said:
people would accept what they have as they become the norm, and what we're doing - no matter how dogshit it is - will inevitably become "taste" eventually.
for example - is it not obvious that most AI hentai art are reflections of the lack of standards and imagination of their prompters? the barely-polished and obscenely monotone look of everything, ranging from how the shine of the enamel of the leotard is drawn to the size ratio of breasts, hips and waists, implies a truly low level of understanding about real erotica. it do sound crass talking about porn, but if you put it this way, is it not a fully-deserved punishment for their boastings of their superiority that even with super-human tools the only thing they've managed to do is to prove to the world how lacking in true judgement and taste they are?
must not forget we're stuck with *nix and its derivatives (e.g. POSIX) mainly because we have collectively decided "this is good enough"...
